New HeadRush brand launches pedalboard with touchscreen

Employs 'Eleven' processing as seen in Pro Tools

In addition to today's MPC news, Akai’s parent company InMusic have launched a completely new brand that will cater for guitarists. Taking its name from Akai’s venerable looper pedal, the HeadRush line kicks off with the HeadRush Pedalboard, an all-in-one amp and effects modeller featuring quad-core DSP processing and exclusive Eleven HD Expanded software designed by the creators of the Eleven amp modelling plug-in for Pro Tools.

The unit promises a wide range of vintage and modern amps and effects, plus a fully featured 20-minute looper, but the most eye-catching feature is the seven-inch touchscreen, which supports drag-and-drop and a range of other gesture controls. The dozen footswitches have mini OLED displays too and the HeadRush Pedalboard promises ‘gapless’ preset switching with no annoying delay between one sound and the next. It’s set for release in the first quarter of 2017, priced at $1199£899.99. Check out a demo from HeadRush here:
